I have an Open BSD box with a d-link dwl-500 (dlink dwl-650 + pcmcia
bridge). I am trying to maintain a wireless connection between my Open box
and my powerbook with a airport wireless card. I have airport set up right
and I can actually ping across but the ping stops after 3 to 10 pings. I
can ping across again if I reset the frequency "wicontrol -f 3". but then
it stops again after 3-10 pings. I have tried changing frequency with no
luck and distance is not an issue I got the same results from six inches
away as in another room. I am using this in ad-hoc mode and with no
encryption. I couldn't get it to work at all in bss mode. I have
checked: http://www.live.com/wireless/unix-base-station.html. It did not
help. Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?
