Re: strange SSH behavior
Try a DNS test. Log into the machine which is slow to respond when you
connect to it (ftp server, SSH server). From that machine do both a
forward and reverse hostname [DNS] lookup. I bet 90%+ of the time this
type of question comes up it is because the serving host insists on
trying to figure out who's connecting and waits for a timeout.
Perhaps your host file or DNS zone info changed? Perhaps there is no
working resolver on the serving host?

Subject: strange SSH behavior
I have been running an OBSD 3.0 server for 3+ months now. I love it!
But
lately for some strange reason when I use Putty to connect to the server
via
SSH it takes a good long 2 minutes or so to authenticate me. I also
believe
it's affecting FTP? This problem started about 1 week ago and I have
not done
anything. It authenticates eventually and works fine but takes a long
time.
Before I would type password in and connect instantly.
any ideas?
thx
Ricardo
