This could only be due to a IRQ reservation issue (for
"legacy" devices), because the PCMCIA IRQs are given
dynamically.
I had this on a NE2k (ISA, 16 bit, Jumpers, BNC+AUI)
where the cable was not 100% o.k. (I use BNC, and I
had to go through every T-piece of the net (disconnect
all three connectors, then reconnect), and it eventually
went away somewhere in the process).
