Boot/Install via tftp
Hi,
Just my luck, I get the 3.0 CD and I can't boot off it. I looked through
the archives for this list and tried the various suggestions (e.g. upper
case OFWBOOT vs. lower case etc.) I too have the "unrecognized Client
Program format" error.
I have never installed OpenBSD nor have I ever used a Mac. I traded for a
G3 "mini-tower" just to learn OpenBSD. (I've been using FreeBSD since 1.x
on x86.) Any solutions which assume OpenBSD is already installed somewhere
and/or basic Mac knowledge (e.g. firmware) will not help me.
I noticed that ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/3.0/macppc/INSTALL.macppc
<ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/3.0/macppc/INSTALL.macppc> mentions that
tftp/bootp/nfs is one way of booting to do an install. Is there any
documentation on how to configure this? That doc only says that this is
possible using the "reconfigured" information. As I've never seen a Mac
before, I'm at a loss as to how to do this.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
MikeC
