What are you talking about?  Why would lucent make their product 
incompatable with itself?  BSS is only if you are using an access 
point, if you are not, then <= 6.04 firmware you are stuck with ad-hoc 
demo (-p 3) and > 6.04 firmware you get ad-hoc demo or IBSS (-p 1).  
Ad-hoc demo only works lucent-lucent (which works no problem), IBSS 
works with any WiFi compliant card.  If you don't even have a basic 
understanding of 802.11b, why answer the question?  It doesn't help 
anyone to get answers that are just made up.
