Re: /etc/yp/domainname question

from ypbind(8)

FILES
/var/yp/binding/DOMAINNAME.version - binding file for domainname
/etc/yp/DOMAINNNAME - server list for this particular domain

(snip)

The name YP stands for Yellow Pee.

The ypbind, most library components, and userland programs were imple-
mented by Theo de Raadt <deraadt@theos.com>.

To be helpful, in answer to the question. Kevin: ypbind doesn't really
factor into slave/master setups (see ypinit for setting up a slave),
but in general a slave should only bind to itself with ypbind, and
likewise the master should only bind to itself (if it needs to).

I recommend putting in 127.0.0.1 as the host.
