Trying..... desperately....  to stop this .... thread.... can't resist... urge to .... hit "reply"  ....

If there had been ONE less post on this, I'd try to stop contributing to the spam, but apparently this is "Osama's code week" on misc@openbsd, and I had to chime in before we all get back to work/play/life.

(may whateveryoubelievein forgive me for flaming out here, all I wanted to do today was tweak snort rules, play with 3.1, and maybe get some inspiration on new projects, instead I have over 100 messages in misc!  And I get THIS claptrap in my inbox!)

So now everyone who "doesn't care" about ONLY your issues and nothing else is stupid huh?  Well I'm smart, I can prove it, I can send email! (on second thought, that isn't proof of intelligence, as you proved with this post).

Wow, sounds like a powerful nation, good luck on getting rid of it.  Maybe if you signed a petition it would go away.  How's that hatred working out for you by the way?

Wow, I guess no treaties were ever broken in the history of the world until that "one single nation" you single out came along?  Huh?  Do you even know there's something called "Evil" and "history"?  Do you think we invented this stuff?  We're just people same as everyone else trying to get through the day, very few Americans are actually the President of the United States (George W Bush and Martin Sheen by last count, and after this weeks West Wing, Sheen looks like he's on his way out).  Did you know that?

Only by spamming their misc list can we stop the evil polluters!

Show me exactly where this "human dignity" is, and the person responsible for denying it, and I'll get it out of there for ya.  Just give me a name and a location.  Can't do it?  Are these subjective concepts?  Do different cultures have differing concepts of these things?  Can I speak to anything other then how I (me, not anyone else) treat human beings?  Aside from this mail, I'm a really nice guy, and a veritable font of human dignity, just ask the people I keep in chains in my basement. (just kidding... I don't have a basement)

Ok, I agree that this goes on, but something tells me you're referring to the US army, not to Al Qaeda here.....

That's just not true.  Some of those corrupt people in charge have no class whatsoever.  Just look at Prince Charles... no class at all. Q.E.D.

hmm, I suppose a huge corporation that contributes billions to the economy and lets thousands of people have nice jobs shouldn't have any political power.  Didn't they do that in the Soviet Union?  Expropriation as a means to social equality is just about as smart as "rm -rf /" to remove a buggy driver.  Sure the driver's gone... but where's my kernel!

Because we should just HAND out nuclear weapons?  Personally, I'm happy that they're being horded.

Because there's nothing less democratic then a good old-fashioned American vote?  Or are you referring to the curious Florida electoral dispute?  Well, we have a constitution, and it has rules, and democracy without rules is fascism.  So if everyone wanted someone else tomorrow, they have to wait for the next election.  Just like the electoral college gets to decide the president, not the direct vote.  Of course reading books by people like Arrow, Rawls, Hobbes, Locke, etc makes one smart, so I wouldn't recommend that you go changing just to please me.

You say one more negative thing about barney the dinosaur on this list and you'll be banned!

Actually, "why", is the number one killer of mental inability.  Next time ask yourself "why am I sending such a load of moronic drivel to a tech list?" or "why would anyone read this and do anything but flame me higher then bananas foster.

Like anyone cares what you Earth-dwellers think.  Unless you're from at least as far away as Jupiter or Alaska, you have nothing to teach us.
