actually, nearly everything in /etc is worth backing up, or at least
reviewing.  Your password files also include spwd.db, pwd.db, and
master.passwd.

Other files to at least look at:
*conf*
hostname*
*local*

You don't need to restore all these from backup, but they can bring you up
to speed in re-editing.  Your IPF files, if any, won't be relevant, but
can make constructing pf rules much faster.

You may want to consider this procedure:

cp -r /etc ~/etcbackup # back it all up
diff -urN ~/etcbackup /etc # compare differences after installation
