3ware escalade fdisk/disklabel fine on 3.0 but NOT 3.1
Hi,
I was just wondering if anybody else out there might
have encountered a weird little problem. I use 3ware
escalade controllers quite a bit with openbsd ... and
I ran into this strange issue. It seems that whenever
I run fdisk or disklabel on a 3ware RAID10 volume
on a 3.1 the kernel panics. I went nuts trying to figure
out the problem... finally I decided to see what happens
if I installed 3.0 because I could have swore the exact
same hardware configuration used to work, and indeed
it did. I refomatted back to 3.1, ran disklabel, panic
again. 3.0 again, works fine. Then with 3.0, you can do
a upgrade via recompiling source to 3.1 and things continue
to work fine (just don't run fdisk or disklabel)
Weird stuff. Just wondering
if anybody is running into this same problem. I am very
suspect because I am thinking that I am probably doing
something very stupid because it wouldn't make sense for
something like this to stop working from one version
to the next.
