SSH and MAC address error

I've run into a strange problem with a particular OpenBSD 3.1 machine. For
some reason, whenever I login to the machine and run a job that has a fair
amount of output to the tty, for example refreshing the src tree or building
a kernel, the session is disconnected with some sort of error.

This error used to say something along the lines of "corrupted MAC on
input", or something similar. Now however, for reasons unknown, I simply get
disconnected from the machine with:

Read from remote host : Connection reset by peer
Connection to foo closed.

I've run a number of OpenBSD machine, in various parts of the globe and am
always able to leave a ssh session open almost as long as the machine has
uptime, but not this one. My thought is that it might be related to the
"router", a Linksys Etherfast BEFR41.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems?
