i386 mbr/boot failure on IBM IntelliStation M Pro
So My Intellistation doesn't boot after the Openbsd install because of
something in the stage 1 i386 booter. After the install I rebooted to
find an Intel Boot Agent bootstrap error claiming that the disk is not
bootable.
The machine started life as a RedHat 7.1 machine with lilo on it.
I've tried;
Manually running installboot;
Hacking up the MBR partition records according to 'machine diskinfo'
GRUB
I've reinstalled several times using 3.1 and 2.6 with the same result.
After booting the kernel on sd0a with a floppy 'boot sd0a:/bsd', I
see that the installation is perfectly intact and disks/filesystems
healthy.
