yes.  use the latest snapshot as some things have been fixed since 3.1
(aac controller issues, pch issues, gx issues (depending on what you
have in the box))

also, be sure to disable ahc at the ukc.  that is, when you boot:
boot -c
ukc> disable ahc*

then proceed normally.  if you encounter problems check the archives
first; around 4/2002 i had a thread going about dell 1650 problems i was
encountering and how they were fixed.
