supported/unsupported cards. Drivers?

Sorry if this is in a faq someplace, I didn't see it.

I am trying to run 2.9 with a SysKonnect gigabit ethernet card.  I am
wondering if it is possible to install a driver or compile in support
for this card.  The card is supported (and works) with 3.0 but I want to
move back to 2.9 because that is what I have on all my other systems.  I
have built kernels before but that is about the extent of my expertise
so far.
