does this bug affect 2.8 as well?  I have a sparc running 2.8, and
privsep doesn't work (using ssh 3.3 or 3.4)   Is the patch you posted
for 2.9 the correct fix for 2.8?   I know the 2.8 branch is closed,
but an unofficial word on the right fix would be great.
