Upgrade function at boot install from cd (3.0 to 3.1)

Hi,

Iīve read Upgrade Mini Faq. Nice Doc.
But one Question (i386): If i take my present 
3.0 machine, put 3.1 boot disc into it and choose
(U)pgrade, is that really upgrade procedure?


p.s. I canīt try it for myself now, coz my 
test machine is damaged.
