He gets payed for the software and its quality. Which includes fairly
decent manpages (which get checked regularly by obsessive-compulsive
people, btw).

He doesn't get payed for going out of his way to please *everyone* on the
mailing-lists. If you believe otherwise, you're highly deluded.
