Firewalling with an embedded PC?
Hi all,
I am planning to make myself a new firewall to my
home network.
I would like to use the OpenBSD pf at the ethernet
level for it. However, I don't want to put another
big and noisy desktop PC for that, using 99% of the
time heating up the atmosphere, and 1% of the time
filtering IP packets... ;-)
Now, the question is, can anyone recommend me
an embedded (single board) PC which would have an
adequate processor and memory to run OpenBSD and
two ethernet ports? The filesystem would probably be
on a flash rom card.
Does anyone have any experience installing OpenBSD
on such hardware? I have found the Soekris Engineering
PC, but I was just wondering if there are any good
alternatives.
Please, cc to my e-mail, as I don't subscribe to
this list. Thank you.
