Forgive the question if it's demeaning -- it's not meant that way. What 
do You have on the other end of the cable? Is it a hub? A switch? Can it 
do 100Mbs? If it's a manageable component, have You checked that the 
speed and duplex are not set to specific values (as opposed to 
autoselect)? Some of these basic parameters would help us much more to 
help You to find the problem. Seven different cards not working doesn't 
much sound like an operating system problem.
