yeah i did try powering it off and on, i also did a tcpdump and found when i
pinged the winxp machine the bsd box sent "arp who has 192.168.0.1" but it
got no reply. when i pinged the bsd box from the winxp machine nothing got
caught in tcpdump ( at it's default level of verbosity anyway )
