How to recover kernel?

I have a little problem. The other day I made a little typo and
effectively did: sudo rm /*

Of course, when I rebooted the kernel could not be found. Currently, I
have the system running, but not as I want it. I used the boot floppy
to ftp a i386 bsd file to the computer. Then I put a boot.conf file in
the etc directory of the floppy with: boot wd0a:/bsd

Now the system will boot when the floppy is inserted, but not with out.
I assume there is some other file that I deleted from the root that I
need, any ideas? Are there any other important files that I am now
missing (from the root)?

Thanks much,
