You do have a key labelled < > | on your keyboard? (It's not on the
default 101 key)

This .Xmodmap will make the Windows® keys Meta, the Win-Menu-key
Compose (e.g. COMPOSE ( c gives you, pressed one after the other,
the © sign) and the < > | key ModeSwitch (i.e. ModeSwitch-a pro-
duces an ä, etc).
