I've got a Thinkpad T40 using Centrino - which really means, Intel mobile CPU
and Intel wireless chipset. The latter is what you're likely to have
difficulty with. Mine has the PRO/Wireless 2100, which is NOT the same as the
PRO/Wireless 2011 (supported). I was running a snapshot from about a month
ago and at tha time, the 2100 chipset was recognized but not
supported/configured. This may have been corrected in -current.

If you're planning on installing 3.4 when it comes out, you may as well
install from a snapshot now, because you'll have to go to the trouble of
rebuilding everything otherwise (a.out -> ELF). -current also has Firebird
working, and probably quite a few other new shiny bits (if history is any
guide).

ah, I should've read this before writing the paragraph above. Oh well. I
suppose support for this chipset will arrive eventually; there are certainly
a lot of vendors shipping Centrino laptops now (IBM has some investment into
Linux as well, which will probably mean Linux drivers before too long, which
will mean drivers for the rest of us.)
