Yes though in that environment, I think you'd want IPSec of some 
flavor.  Offers more options when they start asking to access the 
corporate intranet, SMB shares, etc.

Not to toot my own horn, but yes, I do.  I run a small hosting comany 
and I've provided them with (extremely) detailed instructions on how to 
turn on SSL and SMTP-AUTH in a variety of common MUAs.  I don't tell 
them how to set up SSL/SMTP-AUTH as an afterthought, I tell them its 
required, and why they want it.  Most agree once its explained.
