  I can confirm this. Same motherboard.

  Neither FreeBSD 4.8 nor FreeBSD 5.1 work on this motherboard for me, the
kernel freezes as soon as I plug an USB device in.

  Everything works on Linux, including the audio chip with Alsa but the sound
is crappy and interrupted as soon as there's some CPU load. So I finally
forgot it and bought a cheap SBLive! that works marvelously on any OS :)
