Hopefully it goes like this from then on:
4) One lurks on the list for a little while, looks at the archives or
(horror or horrors) READS http://www.openbsd.org/mail.html and realises
that the OpenBSD lists are not places to annoy people with questions
answerable in a few minutes with google or "man -k".
5) One spends the requisite minutes with google
6) If one is still unsatisfied, one posts to misc@ briefly mentioning
that one has checked the archives and the manpages.
I haven't seen anyone who has done their homework get abused unless what
they propose is terribly stupid to begin with.
