So I have an IBM THinkpad R32, running OpenBSD-current (have done
the 8.22 snapshot, and just last night the 9.16 snapshot, same symptoms)
Under X windows, often I lose the ability to type in any windows, and have
to switch to console mode then back to X mode in order to type again,
or, more annoyingly, everything is in upper case, regardless of the
caps lock button, again, switching back to console mode then back to X
works (CTRL-ALT-F1, then CTRL-ALT-F5)
Sometimes (Seems to be after a warm reboot from XP/Debian) X
will just not start and the laptop needs to be powercycled,
once it's done with a cold boot, X seems to start up no problem
(can't reproduce this all the time, nor do I enjoy locking up the laptop
on a regular basis)
I've attached the XF86Config, and my dmesg from last night.
Sometimes (but not always) I will see the following error on the VTY
that X was launched from:
xterm in malloc() warning: recursive call.
I first tried 3.3-release (upgraded to -stable) then 3.4-current from 8.22,
and 3.4-current from 9.16, all have the same symptoms....actually 3.3
was the worst, and I'd often have problems even in console mode.
The laptop works fine with WinXP (triple boot - XP, OpenBSD, Debian) and
Debian and yes the OpenBSD partition is within the first 8gb (It starts
at 6gb actually)
Thanks...
See attached XF86Config and dmesg.boot
