wide to narrow converters do not work as well as some people think.
Some firmwares get confused, and will refuse to work with a drive that
basically goes and claims wide features.
I've fought enough with stuff like that. And I've fought enough with
cooling my machine room when there are more than 1 drive in a machine
because I am trying to work around it.
