The HP 9000's listed on http://www.openbsd.org/hp300.html are very
different from a Pavilion 8075 desktop.

Most likely your machine will be able to boot up OpenBSD without a
problem. Depending on exactly what is in your machine, not all
components may be useable. You'll need to determine exactly what is in
your computer (not just "a sound card" but "a VIA VT8233 AC97 Audio") and
compare it to what is on http://www.openbsd.org/i386.html Your best bet
is to simply boot off an OpenBSD cd and see what shows up as "Not
Configured", then search to see if there's some other support for that
component (cd image doesn't have everything on it).
Good luck,
