Might be worth noting that these are 5.25" full height drives...
Physical:
Height (inches/mm): 3.25/82.6
Width (inches/mm): 5.75/146.1
Depth (inches/mm): 8.0/203
Weight (lbs/kg): 7.8/3.6
Which isn't necessarily fatal, lots of old machines were designed for
5.25" full height drives, but...
50 drives x 7.8 lbs = 390lbs...plus packaging...
(177kg for those using sane measurement units)
Power requirements are..interesting...too:
POWER REQUIREMENTS: Single-ended/Differential
+12V START-UP (amps) _4.8/4.8
+12V TYPICAL (amps) __1.57/1.57
+5V START-UP (amps) __0.98/1.0
+5V TYPICAL (amps) ___0.665/0.71
TYPICAL ( watts seek/read)_32.60/36.41
IDLE (watts) ______________28.34/31.81
50 x 30 Watts = 1.5kw... Ouch! (and dig that start up surge!)
(ok, yes, I'm having fun multiplying everything in sight by 50, which
is only applicable if you put them all in one place and turn 'em all
on. But...)
Nick.
(feeling a little nostalgic for these old monsters...
...but only a little!)
