Help! Install stops at "Making all device nodes...".

After unsucessfully trying to install OpenBSD several
times, I am in need of some help. The installation
appears to go fine, but just after entering the time
zone info, the system shows a message like: "Making
all device nodes..." and just sits there. Unless this
should take a long time, over an hour for instance, it
is hung. I see no drive activity, and it just sits
there. 

My system is a Compaq Server with 2 8G SCSI HD's
attached to an Adaptec 39160 SCSI Controller.

Any suggestions?
