Re: make release in current fails
Yesterday I went through my first ever upgrade from source (3.4-release ->
3.4-current), for educational purposes if you like, since I don't admin
any production servers or anything, and had encountered some problems more
or less similar to those people complain about on this list so regularly.
Nowm every single bit of problem went away when I stopped acting like a
moron and just followed upgrade-minifaq, step by step.
A few gratis tips:
a) People running production servers shouldn't mess with upgrades unless
they have to.
b) People who do mess with upgrades should read the minifaq thoroughly,
search the archives and adhere to advices given so many times on this very
list ("just install a snapshot" for example), and only then post a problem
report.
Hoping to never again see another question that can be answered by a
readily-available document,
Ido.
