getting a different power supply might solve random reboots but not
(indirectly) triggered ones :-). 

it is very easy to reproduce and works each time. scp the 1GB+ file =>
reboot, no scp => no reboot at all.

other users have the same problem. here are some interesting posts on

while the first one shows that it can also happen with FreeBSD
(disabling the watchdog solves the problem), the latter URL is
particularly informative. trevor talbot suspects OpenBSD's interrupt
handling.
