I challenge you on that.  I recall a DEC VT420, which did not have
color, and the manual facsimilie on VT100.net says "[t]he VT420
uses a 359 mm (14 inch) monochrome screen".  They also have a
VT520/525 manual online, which points out that the VT525 is a color
terminal, implying the VT520 is not.

And the VT220 did of course not have color.  I have one sitting on
the shelf to prove it.
