Automated Installer - Automated Patcher
Greetings,
I have been sponsored by the USGS to create an automated installer and
automated patcher for OpenBSD - the project website is located at
http://www.cet.nau.edu/~fugu/
The automated installer is similar to Solaris Jumpstart or Redhat
Kickstart, it should be able to perform a hands-free installation or
upgrade of the OS. A similar project seems to be in the planning stage
called 'Bumpstart' which can be found on sourceforge.
I have been looking through the OpenBSD source files and we plan on
modifying the existing install.sh and install.sub files to fulfill the
requirements which we need, but I am unable to find these files within the
distribution ISOs or disk images. It seems as if these scripts are
compiled into the kernel somehow.
So my question is: Is it possible to modify the installation process
from ISO or disk image without having to rebuild the distro by source?
Also any pointers, suggestions, or general comments on the project would
be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
-Erik
