erf.  I'm trying to think of a nice way of saying, "get to know the
product before you change it". 8)

Well, here's a REALLY big clue for you...

boot bsd.rd.  Drop to shell.  Look around.  I think much will become
more clear...

The install kernels all do basicly the same thing as bsd.rd (which is,
itself, an install kernel)

Another tip: a fast computer will be nice.  you won't have to rebuild
the entire system from source, but you will need to compile and put
together ramdisk kernels, a really fast machine with a really fast
disk will be your friend.  I *reallly* got tired of my PII-400.  The
XP2700+ is sweet. 8)
