Machine freezing while rebooting

I am keeping fairly up to the minute with -current but over the last
couple of days I have been experiencing problems on rebooting or
shutting down.

The sympton is that the machine seems to freeze after /etc/shutdown
has finished but it doesn't sync the discs and start the post sequence.
The machine just sits there doing nothing.  Is anybody else experiencing
this?

This little glitch is all that is wrong everything else works well.
