Infrequent loss of network connection

I've installed snapshot on an older laptop, and sometimes I quite simply
loose the network connection. An ifconfig up/down will restore the network
connection, though.

The network card is a D-Link DFE-690TXD for CardBus.

After loss of connection an ifconfig shows :

rl0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        address: 00:0d:88:21:5f:a3
