I do accept the replies; I've had enough idiotic flames from people
however, and you're bright enough to get in touch with anyway. :)

I actually did try a snapshot cd36.iso (built 20040824) and it
failed with the message "No disks found." Pretty much I've found
that *nothing* supports the controller in this x306 without any
major issues; not even the "we're in bed with IBM" linux vendors.
So to summarize, the SATA controller in the x306 isn't supported by
3.5-STABLE or 3.6-CURRENT as of 20040824. If you'd like, I can try
again and post a dmesg.
