Isn't version 4.3.8 of PHP available for OBSD 3.5 (package & port ) ? You
mention 4.3.9, does it mean that you installed manually from sources ?

Maybe you should first try to install the php4-4.3.8.tgz package using pkg_add
and see if it works.
