An addendum to this one:

When I post to misc@openbsd.org, I provide details of what I've found so far,
and the full contents of any relevant config files. This helps the volunteers
on the list to eliminate obvious errors, and to come up with helpful
solutions.

Bad:
I can't get networking to work. How do I set it up?

Good:
My network needs me to use DHCP; I've created a file /etc/hostname.xl with the
following contents
dhcp
up
as suggested in man hostname.if, and it doesn't work. My dmesg from the
GENERIC kernel follows; any ideas?

I've tried removing the "up", and that doesn't help; changing the dhcp line to
"dhcp media 10baseT" doesn't help either. ifconfig output follows
<insert ifconfig output>

<insert dmesg here>
