there are some things for linux - but at todays disk prices i would
better let my fingers off it because it is either a bit insecure (in
terms of dataloss in case of failure) or slow - but it doesn't have to
be ... but at the current state it is (i tried to help someone in
testing double - a compressed device thing for linux a while ago -
from there are my experiences)
