interaction of gs and apsfilter flawed. 2.1 specific problem?

I  wanted  to  use  apsfilter  for  printing.   I have sucessfully installes
ghostscript  and  teTeX.   Both  are working.  I even printed directly to my
printerdevice with gs, which worked very neatly.

lpd  queues a postscriptfile properly (watched the queue with ghostview) and
the  gs options supplied by apsfilter look okay.  "-sOutputFile=-" and input
from  "-",  too.   Ghostscript  is running and failing "Aladdin Ghostscript:
Unrecoverable  error,  exit  code 1".  The errordescription printed to paper
differs mostly!  It seems gs gets invalid input from the queue somehow.

I  don't see what's wrong and I'm pretty lost here.  A freidn uses apsfilter
on his crappy Linux without problems :-( What am I doing wrong here???
