Hmm, I can't understand this. Since ypcat and ypmatch works it can't be
problems with the "yp library routines". I wrote a small test program
called yptest to check if all functions is working. It should be located
in /usr/sbin. If this works it must be something else...
I have been running an OpenBSD/sparc 2.0 as client to a SunOS 4.1.x
ypserver. But I don't know if it was the 2.0 release or a later snapshot.
Are you shure you have turned on the usage of yp in the password file?
Does eg 'ypmatch root passwd' have the same format as a line in
/etc/passwd?
