linux's ldconfig dosen't work!!

Dear Sirs
 hi, My name is H.Higuchi.

 I installed OpenBSD-2.2-i386.
 and I copied  configuration file to hiro then I edit hiro only about
scsi and sound sections.
 Of course, I NEVER edited about COMPAT_LINUX.
 But when I ran ldconfig of Slackware-3.4 (ofcourse, this is Linux),
it went hungup ,and made only core dump.
 
#I ofcoure applied the patch named compat_linux.patch on FTP
(ftp.tut.ac.jp) . it is not a patch with 'sed' ,it is with only patch .

#why does ldconfig go hungup?

    Does anyone know the solutions?
