SCSI driver bugs?
Hi,
I'm using a 53C8xx-based PCI SCSI host adapter with four Ultra-wide SCSI
disks (IBM 9GB). While I'm doing "dd if=/dev/rsd1c of=/dev/rsd3c bs=64k"
in the middle of the night, the system spew out thousands of the following
messages to the syslog:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jun 30 04:00:05 mickey /bsd: sd1(ncr0:13:0): COMMAND FAILED (4 28)
@0xf0c68400.
Jun 30 04:00:05 mickey /bsd: assertion "cp" failed: file
"../../../../dev/pci/ncr.c", line 6550
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm running OpenBSD 2.5-Beta, but I've downloaded the newest version of
/usr/src/sys/dev/pci/ncr.c, which didn't solve the problem. This doesn't
happend everyday, every 2 to 5 days. Then I will have to reboot my machine
to make the system back to normal. (A partition on sd1 is for NFS
sharing.)
Is this a bug in the driver? Or there is something wrong with my hard
disk. If it is a hard disk fault, I shouldn't get this kind of
information, should I?
Thank you.
