Download 2.5 or the latest binary snapshot (depending on whether you want
the latest and greatest or just the release).  Install that and rebuild
from there as needed.

(I'm lazy, I usually just grab the snap and call it good enough, maybe
rebuild the kernel if I'm really interested.)
