Problems with isa pnp modem
Hello, all,
This may be something incredibly obvious that I'm missing about
configuration, but so far I'm stumped. I'm trying to get OpenBSD to
recognize a Supra 33.6 PnP modem in a 486, and so far it's not
cooperating. I'm working off of a 2.5 build, and all of the sources for
the recompiled kernel are straight off of the CD.
This is with a recompiled kernel which is essentially a pared down
GENERIC, but with a few lines changed at the pccom level. I've
commented out the normal pccom1, and replaced it with:
pccom1 at isapnp0
(the modem is the only pnp card in the system). Also, I commented out
the "pccom* at isapnp?" line, so there shouldn't be fighting going on
between the two lines during config. In addition, I turned on isapnp
debugging, so the kernel output is now copious on the matter. I've
tacked on a bit of dmesg below, and its output is extensive, but I still
can't get a hold of what's not clicking.
At any rate, it could be that the Supra modem is too proprietary to play
with BSD correctly, or it could be that I'm completely misunderstanding
how the modem is supposed to attach to the driver. In any case, any
help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
