I've lost files...once. The fact that it was my fstab was a big pain in
the ass though. I hadda whip out disklabel mount/umount everything to
figure it out.

Mmmm... Indeed. I get about 6MBps to my one disk and better than 10MBps
between disks, and they're both just 3600 RPM AFAIK. (dd to a file on FFS
gives almost equiv perf. dd to a file on ext2 blows, but so it goes.)
