exim 3.20 - almost here
The current maintainer of exim is unable to update the port to
incorporate the new release 3.20. I have done an updated port and will
post it here soon for testing - I am at a location where I cannot get
files off my own laptop on the 'net :(
Testing of non-i386, ldap flavor, mysql flavor and STARTTLS would be
appreciated. Other flavors (no_perl, pgsql) seem to be fine from my
initial testing... Would a no_tls flavor be useful ?
Meanwhile, this is more likely one for misc@ or tech@ but the new
version of exim supports the STARTTLS option for SMTP over SSL/TLS,
but it currently only supports certificates in files - as the code is
based on stunnel. I am sure that it should be opssible (and desirable)
to get certs from a database (for virtual host support etc.) or LDAP
server, but I have zero experience with OpenSSL.
To aid future version of exim to support more than just certs in
files, can anyone help look at the code at some point ? I looked at
the OpenSSL libs (in /usr/src/lib/...) and I think that the parellel
routines to process in-memory certs are all there, but I have no code
examples or docs...
