I don't remember that I mentioned I've compiled from source. Instead, this
was a much more amazing instance, I meant. The distribution I had used was
the binary one.

It always amaze me how many people install 2.8 from source, without even
checking through the email archive for common problems.

Why didn't you install using binaries in the first place ?
If you don't know the OpenBSD resources in the first place (like tech@,
or like the FAQ), it's a good idea...

As far as this specific problem goes, it has been beaten to death on the
mailing-lists when it occurred.

Just grab a binary distribution, reinstall, and be done with it.
